From Research IT

The Research IT group provides backup services to all important files under our control.

System Paths

The following are the paths that are touched by the backup system.

• Everything under /network ( this includes all home, labs, and websites ) that...

1. Writable by the user
2. Not specifically excluded

NOTE: If you wish to have another directory backed up ( /var/home, ... ) please contact ritgroup@albany.edu in order to make arrangments for that backup.

Backup Schedule

• Daily: changes are retained for a minimum of 90 days
• Quarterly: archive are retained for 1 year
• Yearly: archive is retained forever

Restoration Requests

If you have lost or deleted a file you need to contact ritgroup@albany.edu as soon as possible. When making a restoration request please include the following incormation.

• File(s) or Directory(s) to be restored
• Date you want them restored from
• If you want the files restored
